A tribute to Qateel Shifai

LAHORE, July 11: Qateel Shifai,
a great lyricist and famous poet of the subcontinent, died* on Wednesday.
The 82-year-old poet was in Sheikh Zayed
Hospital's intensive care unit for many days without much improvement in
his condition. He had suffered paralysis and a stroke. He had also
developed complications in his kidneys early last year. He remained in
the Punjab Institute of Cardiology for about a month after which he
responded slowly. But the latest illness for which he was rushed to the
hospital was, according to family sources, an attack of pneumonia
which had affected his lungs.
